Robin Samsel and Chris Foster scored in the alcohol classes at the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series North Central Division All-American Hot Rod Showdown at Gateway Motrosports Park.

For Samsel, it was his second year in a row winning the event. He won last year behind the wheel of the Dreher Motorsports entry, and this year behind the wheel of his own team car. 

"We only had one shot to get in the field," Samsel explained. "First round we had to run the Dreher car, a car I was able to drive last year and I am thankful to have been able to drive. For me, knowing Jared's driving ability, that was the hardest round to win.

"Then I had to run the Hirata car, and it wasn't any easier. Spun the tires but was able to drive around for the win. It was a total team effort from Tony Samsel, Grayson Biehn, and Eric Whirl.
