It’s been anticipated by many for one year and it’s finally here; The K&N Spring Fling Million presented by Optima Batteries.
 
The rigs will begin entering The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in expectation of what will be a very financially rewarding week. Beginning with a Free Test & Tune session sponsored by Yukon Gear & Axle on Tuesday, racers from all over the country will descend upon the track which last year saw Jeff Verdi win the main event, The Million, with his door car from Virginia.
 
Wednesday will be the first of three separate $20K to win races; Wednesday, Thursday and finally Saturday to close out the week. Friday is reserved for The Million with a guaranteed purse paying at least $100,000 to the winner followed by very rewarding round money. While first place is guaranteed the $100K, the more entries, the higher the number goes. Last year’s race saw 270 cars enter the exclusive field which awarded Verdi $270,000 as his first place prize.
 
“When our racers come into a Spring Fling event, they are expecting a one-of-a-kind experience at a premier facility,” co-promoter Peter Biondo explained. “And there probably is no better place for such a great event than Las Vegas.”
 
In addition to the races themselves, over $60,000 is racer appreciation giveaways on each day makes this more than just a winner take all event. The patented Spring Fling Reaction Time Challenge also takes place on Saturday morning with 20 randomly selected drivers given the chance to record a perfect reaction time. Any driver that records a .00X reaction time earns him or her $100 cash on the spot. Record a triple-zero perfect reaction time gets the driver $1,000 and the chance to do it one more time for $10,000 if they record another perfect light.
 
There is excitement in every waking minute at any Spring Fling event and this week will be no different. On Friday morning, every entrant in any of the Spring Fling races is eligible to take part in the Brodix Run For The $100K. For a $100 entry fee, each racer will make a time run with a dial-in on their car. A perfect run (.000 reaction time coupled with a dead-on the dial run) earns $100,000 on the spot. Regardless of whether anyone makes that perfect run, there are huge prizes for first, second and third place Best Packages. First Best Package will be walking away with a set of Brodix SR20 heads, second will win $2000, and the third Best Package receives a $2000 entry for the 2018 Spring Fling Million main event.
