THE SPRING FLING COMES TO GALOT

For the past seven years, the K&N Spring Fling brand of races has made the middle of May at Bristol Dragway’s famed Thunder Valley the home for some of the best bracket racers in the country. Not so this year.

“When our racers come into a Spring Fling event, they are expecting a one-of-a-kind experience at a premier facility,” co-promoter Peter Biondo explained earlier this year. “So, Kyle and I have searched high and low for the right facility and time of year and have put a ‘Fling schedule and payout structure in place for 2017 that I think racers are going to love.”

This moves the Bristol event; now dubbed the Sparco Fall Fling presented by Optima Batteries; to late September to take advantage of a better weather forecast. That leaves us to the month of May and this week in particular.

When it comes to premier facilities, few can argue that the new Galot Motorsports Park in North Carolina is as premier as it gets. Newly rebuilt several years ago, the track in Benson, North Carolina has the best of everything, something ‘Fling racers can’t wait to see for themselves.

The action begins tomorrow (Tuesday) with a Test & Tune session followed by the American Race Cars/Racetech Dragster Shootout for an elite 32-car field. Both winner and runner-up receive a new dragster. Then on Wednesday the action really heats up with a $15,000 to win event and only gets hotter all weekend with a cool $50,000 up for grabs by the winner of Friday’s main event. Both Thursday and Saturday will coincide with $20,000 to win races each day. In typical ‘Fling fashion, there is over $50,000 in awards and prizes randomly handed out all week and all prizes and awards are 100-percvent guaranteed.

The action will be live thanks to MotorMania TV.com brought to you by JEGS and Mickey Thompson Tires. Stay tuned to www.bracketraces.com for more information and race results.
