The first video, titled “The First Fifty Years,” tells the fascinating story of the development of the early days of the sport and includes profiles of some of the early pioneers, including Don Garlits, Shirley Muldowney, John Force, Don Prudhomme, Kenny Bernstein and Bob Glidden.

The second through 15th titles in the series will be a year-by-year review of NHRA drag racing from 1986-1999 beginning with “Drag Racing ’86.” It will be released Oct. 1 and feature prominently “Big Daddy” Don Garlits, who won the Gatornationals and then went airborne at Englishtown in one of the most spectacular crashes in NHRA history.

“We are excited to make this rich, vintage content available to our fans, particularly as we approach the 50th anniversary of one of the most historically important events in racing, the Kragen O’Reilly NHRA Winternationals, next February 11-14,” said Gary Darcy, NHRA senior vice president, sales and marketing. “It’s going to be a series that every drag racing fan will want to collect.”

The First Fifty Years will go on sale Sept. 3, and start shipping Sept. 11, and a new title will be released monthly.
