Jason Rupert grew up at the drag strip watching his father Frank run up and down the roads all over the west coast racing both Top Fuel and Funny Car.
Rupert aspired to be a drag racer for as long as he can remember. When the opportunity to give back to Frank, he quickly pounced on the opportunity.
One of Rupert's favorite and more successful rides was the Eagle Electric AA/FD; the car was restored by Stan Canter. Together he and brother Matthew,along with friend Dave Schwartz purchased the car as a gift.

One thing is for sure in the rough and tumble world of Drag Radial racing. A driver needs to know when to hold them, and when to fold them. In this instance, fold them doesn't mean the front end of the car. During our "Four Minutes of Mayhem" compilation video at Donald Long's Lights Out 8, there was four minutes of pure carnage and near carnage. This No Mercy 8 compilation from Valdosta, Ga., isn't quite as destructive but there were moments when the situations got quite sporty.

Top Fuel points leader Steve Torrence, a Kilgore, Texas native, was uninjured and exited the vehicle under his own power after his dragster lost control after crossing the finish line during the second round of eliminations. Torrence won the round against Richie Crampton. Per NHRA rules, Torrence was able to bring out a back-up car to race in the semifinal round where he lost to Brittany Force.
