NASCAR announced that Senior Vice President Jill Gregory, who currently oversees the company’s Industry Services department, will also assume leadership of NASCAR Marketing effective immediately. Gregory replaces Kim Brink who was named Chief Operating Officer of Global Team Ford, the WPP-owned group of agencies dedicated to Ford, earlier today.

50 YEARS AGO, JARRETT WON HIS FIRST IN A GALAXIE

 

Ned Jarrett made a living out of being first and that’s still the case today even though it’s been almost five decades since he climbed inside a stock car.

He ranks first on the all-time Ford NASCAR Sprint Cup Series win list with 43 and made history by becoming the first champion in company history when he won the 1965 championship driving for owner Bondy Long.

NASCAR HANDS DOWN DOVER PENALTIES

Trevor Bayne, driver of the No. 6 car, has received a penalty for his actions during the May 31 race (Sections 12.1, 12.8 b and 10.4.2.1 in the 2015 NASCAR rule book). After the No. 6 car was involved in an on-track incident, the driver walked across the racing surface before he was attended to by the track safety crew. Bayne has been fined $20,000 and placed on NASCAR probation through Dec. 31.
