FEEDBACK FRIDAY – COMING BACK FROM THE BIG ONE, PT. 2

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - COMING BACK FROM THE BIG ONE - PART 2

11-11_comingback2.jpgHaving
gone throught cancer myself last year I thought both of these articles
covered the subject quite well. The real problem is like Jack said-you
never are sure it won't come back. However, one has to push on and it
helps to hear that others have made it - Arnie Kuhns

FEEDBACK FRIDAY – GOING 500 - THE EARLY DAYS OF 500-INCH PRO STOCK

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - GOING 500 - EARLY DAYS OF 500-INCH PRO STOCK

11-11_500ps.jpgI love reading about that time frame of Pro-Stock.

All those guys who raced back then ran both major circuits after the rule change in NHRA to 500 C.I.

I would love to see more articles on all those driver, like a now and then type thing. - Michael Walker

FEEDBACK FRIDAY – A/FUEL FLOPPER: THE WEISGUY

FEEDBACK ARTICLE – A/FUEL FLOPPER: THE WEISGUY

10-24-08weisguy.jpgHaving not been to races for a few years, going to Pomona this weekend was
great.  With all due consideration for safety maybe going back to 1/4 mile by
removing the blower for T/F and F/C,  The A/FD are very exciting to watch, with
four second at 300 mph do able. The cost consideration would allow for more
competion with the touring Pros budgets at 1.5 to 4 million dollars.  I remeber
Tom Topping car and others who ran the numbers over ten years ago.  Anyway Nitro

Injected for T/AC and T/AD why not.  Removing blowers from the T/F and F/C to
incease safety and lower cost should be serious consideration. - Jim

FEEDBACK FRIDAY – AN ENCORE: THE COUNTY - REST IN PEACE

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - AN ENCORE: THE COUNTY - REST IN PEACE

10-30-08ocir.jpgGreat story on a great facility in the birthplace of our sport.  I had
the honor of promoting those last World Finals held there while working
for NHRA and also attended one of the "100 Funny Cars" Doner freak
shows. Wow. Don't think we'll ever see shows like those again. Thanks
for the flashback. - Steve Earwood

FEEDBACK FRIDAY – JOHN WIEBE: GOING OUT ON TOP

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - JOHN WIEBE: GOING OUT ON TOP

10-26-08weibe.jpgKiller
article!! Kansas John was my racing hero when I was growing up. My Dad
(Speedy Day) campaigned a low budget AHRA Top Fueler in the mid 70's,
and we ran a lot of John's 'left-overs'. He was always the coolest and
treated his fans and
fellow racers with respect. And he didn't mind helping the little guy either.

FEEDBACK FRIDAY – TALKING FORD: BRIAN WOLFE INTERVIEW

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - TALKING FORD: BRIAN WOLFE INTERVIEW

11-04brianwolfe.jpgAsk
him about getting a Glidden in a Mustang. That is what FORD fans want
to see, and it is what will gain notice for the car as well. From a
businees perspective it is called capitalizing on the fame that
previously spent money has already
created. - Mike Fedor

FEEDBACK FRIDAY – AN ENCORE: THE COUNTY - REST IN PEACE

FEEDBACK ARTICLE - AN ENCORE: THE COUNTY - REST IN PEACE

10-30-08ocir.jpgWow,
25 years ago CCIR was still here. The description in the last paragraph
was painful. Kind of like getting back together in high school with a
girlfriend from 4th grade, hitting it off real good, and then she says
"Sorry, my parents are moving to Ohio. I gotta go"

I really miss that place.

It's close proximity to the El Toro Marine base made me think it would never leave, but alas the base left too. - Tommy Thompson

FEEDBACK FRIDAY – WESTCOTT’S DETERMINATION TODAY, DOMINATION TOMORROW APPROACH

FEEDBACK ARTICLE – WESTCOTT’S DETERMINATION TODAY, DOMINATION TOMORROW APPROACH

10-25-08westcott.jpgWith
all due respect...the Warfish Hemi Cars...Part 1 and 2 ...are some hell
of a race cars. They are the benchmark for the Hemi Shootouts and they
are ferocious competitors wherever they race.  But that's about it
because during Super Stock eliminations (they are Super Stock cars
aren't they?)these cars are far from contenders...and the fact of the
matter is they are normally sitting on the side lines after the 1st or
2nd round.  That being said, Super Stock racing is already ultra
expensive to campaign in. Who can afford to spend a half million
dollars+ to win $15,000? I think truthfully the Wescott guys know that
their shootout motors are rolling hand grenades and couldn't last thru
numerous rounds of Super Stock eliminations. So even though they do
"rotate" the earth...they will forever remain high dollar exhibition
shootout cars. - David Gutierrez

FEEDBACK FRIDAY – A/FUEL FLOPPER: THE WEISGUY

FEEDBACK ARTICLE – A/FUEL FLOPPER: THE WEISGUY

10-24-08weisguy.jpgGOOD
STORY!  This is the simplest solution to ALL of the blown-fuel classes'
current problems:  Ban the blower (which can't be seen anymore,
anyway), and bring back quarter-mile racing and records.  – Dave Wallace

FEEDBACK FRIDAY – TJ & KLOEBER: A NECESSARY REUNION

FEEDBACK ARTICLE – TJ & KLOEBER: A NECESSARY REUNION

10-23-08tjkloeber.jpgHaving
been around the Johnson's for many years and seeing Mike work on their
Top Fuelers I am happy they hooked up again. I hope this can be a
lasting and successful venture as both TJ and Mike are top
professionals. I thank Competition Plus for this fine article. It was
truly an enjoyable article. GOOD LUCK to Bernstein Racing TJ and Mike. - Nathan Stouwie
