TOP DOORSLAMMER RACER RETURNING DURING BOXER DAY

353.jpgAustralian Top Doorslammer competitor Maurice 'Fabulous' Fabietti is set to make a return to competition this Boxing
Day in brand new machinery. Maurice will be once again supporting the 'lions-den' driving the Holden Genuine Parts-sponsored Monaro. The Monaro runs a Murray Anderson chassis identical to that used by fellow competitor Ben Bray.

"The product produced by Murray Anderson is second to none. For quite some time now Murray has been the leader in Doorslammer chassis and the future is looking bright for him and his product," said Fabietti.

Last week the car hit the track for the first time producing a 6.398/222.47mph pass with a fairly soft tune-up.

"This is definitely a sign of things to come," Maurice continued. "If the car can run these numbers at this stage of the program, then I'm really looking forward to see what times we can produce when we get more data on the car."

Come Boxing Day, the Fabietti team is going to be presented with the perfect opportunity to gain data in race form. For the first time in Australian drag racing history, WSID is going to showcase a no-holds-barred event with no weight or blower overdrive restrictions.

"I believe this is the perfect supplement to the USA vs. Australia Top Fuel showdown. We have been trying to get something like this to happen for quite some time now and I'm thrilled it's going to happen at our biggest event of the year," remarked WSID CEO Jim Read.

Top Doorslammer will see eight drivers battling for supremacy in two week's time. These drivers include: Maurice Fabietti, Brett Gillespie, Sean Mifsud, Stephen Dupond, Joe Cutelli, Peter Blake, Peter Lovering and Deno Brijeski.

The two-day Boxing Day event will also feature Round 4 of the Australian Top Alcohol Championship.
