High Speed Motorsports has selected Troy Green as the new driver of it's Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragster for the 2007 racing season.

"Everyone at HighSpeed Motorsports, including our corporate sponsors, SilverThin Bearings and Mastercam Software are very excited to have Troy at the wheel entering the 2007 season" said HSMS CEO Dale Singh. "His reputation in the pits is unmatched. He is highly regarded by all who know him."

HSMS COO Tom Shelar has the most history with Troy Green, "He and I first met in 1997 at Thunder Valley Raceway in Oklahoma during a March of Dimes benefit race. He was driving the first AA/FD that he and his father Gorman built. Over the years we have become good friends and I have always been impressed with his knowledge in both driving and tuning one of these 5 second animals. It's exciting to finally have him drive for our team."

Green of Purcell,Oklahoma and his family campaigned their own nostalgia top fuel dragster for 6 years, mostly in the Midwest.  In 2004 Troy was named crew chief on the Mastercam dragster and stayed with that team through the 2005 season. The 2006 season brought along the opportunity to work as co-crew chief along side current High Speed Motorsports crew chief Brett Johansen. The combination proved to be fruitful as the team missed winning the 2006 Goodguys Top Fuel championship by 3 points.

"Troy was very instrumental to our 2006 success" said Johansen. "We work well together and his input is extremly valuable. Having Troy behind the wheel will only make us better headed into 2007."

"I am very fortunate and grateful just to be a small part of this team, Said Green. The entire High Speed Motorsports team sets an excellent example of what professionalism is all about. I am looking forward to continuing our success from last year.  I want to thank Dale Singh, CEO of HSMS for giving me this opportunity."

Although Sean Bellemeur is leaving the seat of the HSMS Top Fuel Dragster to pursue a Lucas Oil Top Alcohol Funny Car Championship in 2007, he will remain with the HSMS team as a consultant/test driver. Early 2007 plans include testing in late January before the team heads to Pomona Raceway to make exhibition runs at the season opening NHRA Powerade Winternationals Feb 10 - 11.
