DRAGWAY 42 HANGOVER NATIONALS
Nearly 250 racers from 4 states traveled to West Salem, Ohio's Dragway 42 to kick off the new year at the track's 8th Annual Hangover Nationals.
Vehicles ranging from classic Mustangs to Corvettes, diesel
pickups to daily drivers battled each other and winter weather conditions
for eight rounds of racing on a 20.07 index.
In the first final round
of 2007 A.J. Buchannan of Vickery, OH in his 1997 Mercury Mountaineer used
an .0319 reaction time advantage to defeat the 1996 Chevrolet Surburban of
Norwalk, OH's Chris Freeland in a double breakout race. The finish line
margin was a very respectable .0121
Dragway 42 will be conducting its
annual Awards Banquet on Saturday,
January 27 (complete with over $4,000 in
door prizes already received),
then will move full swing into its 50th
Anniversary Season with a track
opening in March.
