DAVE HERGERT PASSES

Veteran Top Fuel Wrench, Dave Hergert, died suddenly on Saturday, January 13, 2007.  He was 42 years of age.   He succumbed to injures suffered in an auto accident three months ago.  Affectionately known as Brother Dave, by those who knew him.  Dave spent nine years in Top Fuel drag racing, starting out as a co- crew chief in 1997.  He gave his heart and soul to drag racing.  He will be sorely missed.

His references included Paul Smith, Steve Smith, Ralph White, Bobby Lagana Jr., Grant Flowers, Tim Cullinan and Vinnie Arcadi.  He is survived by daughter Justine, parents, Ken and Bev and brothers Ken and Steve.  Services will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 7820 Beechmont Avenue, Cincinnati, Oh 45255.  Dave was a single parent, putting his daughter through college at Ohio State University.  Her dream is to in the veterinary profession.  Sadly, he will have to look from above to see their dream achieved.
