There has been a major battle going on for the last few weeks at South Georgia Motorsports Park and it hasn’t been for the winner’s circle. It’s the track record that several of the leading NHRA Pro Stock racers are grappling for.

During December, V. Gaines dropped the official number to a 6.60, only to have Warren Johnson (whose son Kurt held it prior to Gaines) lower it to a 6.602.

Mopar fans have reason to cheer because yesterday, factory superstar Allen Johnson ended up as the king of the hill with a fine 6.592. Johnson’s run came with the team’s newest bullet.

There’s no reason to doubt that number will be lowered during the Eastern Spring Test Nationals presented by Torco’s CompetitionPlus.com coming in March.
