The Grand National Roadster Show, affectionately known as the “Grand Daddy of them All!” celebrated it’s 58th birthday this year. The 2007 Hall of Fame inductees included Gary Meadors, So-Cal Speed Shop President Pete Chapouris and metal working genius Marcel DeLay.

Meadors was voted into the GNRS Hall of Fame by its prestigious group of members, chaired by veteran car show promoter Blackie Gejeian. Notable Hall members include Wally Parks, Sam & Chip Foose, George Barris, Tom Medley, Tex Smith, Norm Grabowski and many other industry heroes. “It’s an honor to be recognized by the Grand National Roadster Show Hall of Fame,” Meadors beamed. “I was a regular at the show when it was held in Oakland for so many years. I first entered a car at the 1968 event. The event is a big part of hot rod history – especially out West. John Buck and his staff have really taken the event to new heights at its new home in Pomona. It’s an honor be in this kind of elite company.”

Gary Meadors held the first Goodguys event, the “Goodguys Get-Together” in 1983. In 2003, Goodguys became the world’s largest rod & custom association with over 70,000 members worldwide. Meadors is a member of the Street Rod Market Alliance Hall of Fame, San Francisco Rod & Custom and Motorcycle Show Hall of Fame and is a card carrying member of the Bonneville 200mph Club.
