MORE TOYOTA AND BAD TIMING?

(8-23-2006) - The Kalitta Toyota body made another aborted attempt today before shutting off after severe tire shake. The fuel system gremlin may be corrected now, but the aborted run was unable to provide the needed high speed aerodynamic data needed from the body design.

Speaking of gremlins, shortly after their run, the timing system had problems and required more than 30 minutes to correct. During the repair, the Christmas tree was replaced. Deja' vu all over again? It was unclear but it is possible that the track has not received the upgrade/rebuild of the timing system since the Compulink team was asked to fix the problems that plagued NHRA tracks earlier in the year. Or, hopefully, this was just one of those things that happen at tracks where fuel cars vibrate the system so bad that problems are bound to surface occasionally - Roger Richards
