Ronnie Humphrey will be competing in his first full season of NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing competition in 2011 as officials from Summit Racing Equipment today announced that their Genuine Hotrod Hardware line would once again be backing the veteran competitor.  Following a successful foray with Humphrey during the final five races of the 2010 season, the Tallmadge, Ohio based company decided to expand their involvement to cover the full 22-race campaign, allowing them to further promote their line of products designed to complement the hot rodder’s lifestyle.

“We are excited to continue our relationship with Ronnie Humphrey in 2011,” said Jim Greenleaf, Motorsports and Events Manager for Summit Racing Equipment.  “Ronnie and the entire Troy Humphrey Motorsports team did a tremendous job both on and off the track representing Summit and our Genuine Hotrod Hardware line at the end of the 2010 season, and we are looking forward to seeing what they can do as full-time competitors on the NHRA tour.

Although 2011 will mark Humphrey’s first full campaign on the NHRA circuit, the second-generation racer is no stranger to the highly competitive Pro Stock division, having participated on a limited basis since ascending to the “factory hot rods” from the Competition Eliminator class in 2004.  Fully aware of the demands of full-time competition, both he and his Troy Humphrey Motorsports crew are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead and excited by the prospect of building on their 16th place finish from a year ago.  A key element in the team’s optimism is their continued alliance with the formidable KB Racing team, an association Humphrey believes could produce his first NHRA national event win.
