2007 LEGION OF HONOR AWARDS

The 2007 recipients of Legion of Honor Awards were announced this week by the National Nostalgia Drag Racing Association and will be presented at the Sixth Annual Musclecar Madness car show at the York Reunion and Nostalgia Nationals to be presented at the Toyota Arena, York Expo Center, York Fairgrounds on July 13-14, 2007.

Legion of Honor awards will be presented on Friday, July 13th at 6 p.m. at special ceremonies honoring twelve annual recipients.  Receiving the prestigious  awards are George Weiler, Birdsboro, PA; Wally Bell, Fredericksburg, VA; Ray Allen, Upland, CA; Ralph Truppi, North Branch, NJ; Walt Weney, Jr.,Spring City, PA; Harold Ramsey (posthumous) Chestertown, MD; Paul Mayo, Ginter, PA; Bernie Agaman, Eatontown, NJ; Tom Sneden, Bryantown, MD; Don Yenko (posthumous) Washington, NC;  Marvin Rifchin, Waltham, MA; and Malcolm Durham (posthumous) Hyattsville, MD.

The award for Harold Ramsey will be received by his son, Henry Ramsey.  The award for Don Yenko will be received by Ed Hedrick and the award for Malcolm Durham will be received by his wife and son Bernard.    

The awards  are presented by the NNDRA to deserving recipients for their many contributions to the performance industry.  A special individual award is presented to the recipient , and his/her name is placed upon a perpetual award that will be displayed at the Eastern Museum of Motor Racing in perpetuity.  The EMMR is located one mile north of York Springs, PA just off US Route 15.

Additional deserving candidates have been proposed from the industry and names  awaiting future consideration to the elite list are Neil Hinkle, Jack Redd, Terry Strickler, Ed Hedrick, Darwin Doll, Joe McNally, Ed Eaton, Tom Kling, Ed Quay, Bob Duffy, Dave Reitz, Dopey Duncan, Fred Gibb, Joe Mondello, Al Brown, and Duke Snider at this time.  Deserving candidate proposals can be submitted to the NNDRA, P.O.
