HEY MISTER, LOOKIN’ FOR A SET OF SCUFFS?

Noted chassis builder Don Ness is nearing completion on a machine that will quickly “scuff” up a brand new set of Goodyear Eagle Pro Stock slicks.

Noted chassis builder Don Ness is nearing completion on a machine that will quickly “scuff” up a brand new set of Goodyear Eagle Pro Stock slicks.

Ness has not yet decided what he’ll charge for using the machine, but it will absolutely save the teams money. Racers must currently make a couple of burnouts and launches to properly “run in” a set of tires, which means they lose valuable testing time and/or must somehow get the tires to the track for someone else to do the work for them.

With Ness’ new gizmo, which he hopes to have on the road by the Mopar Mile-High Nationals in Denver in July, competitors will be able to roll their mounted rubber over to his rig and have the work done in minutes rather than the untold hours it took before.  One entity keenly interested in the new machine?  Goodyear!
