NEW INDY SPONSOR FOR CLAY MILLICAN
Clay Millican and Kenny
Koretsky’s Top Fuel team will have more “Motorvation” than usual when they
continue their quest for a National Hot Rod Association victory at the 52nd Mac
Tools U.S. Nationals, Friday through Monday.
Mark Pickens, owner of
Motorvation Automotive Performance Products, and Koretsky announced Motorvation
will sponsor Millican for NHRA’s oldest, richest and most prestigious
race.
The popular, effervescent Millican, of Drummonds, Tenn., is a
five-time IHRA champion with an unprecedented 46 career victories. His
motivation, however, is to find his way to the NHRA winner’s circle.
“I’m excited to have Mark and Motorvation, a local company from
Memphis, involved with our team,” said Millican. “They are getting into drag
racing in a pretty big way. I know Mark and all his employees are excited,
too. I hope the experience pays off for them and they want to go drag racing
more often.”
Pickens said he chose Koretsky’s team because “it is a
proven championship team driven by the best interview in Top Fuel, Clay
Millican. Motorvation is looking to further its name brand recognition and
reach further into NHRA’s ever-growing fan base.”
Motorvation Automotive
Performance Products manufactures and sell performance chips, modules and
handheld programmers for domestic cars, trucks, SUVs and light-duty vehicles
that enhance both performance and fuel economy.
Pickens also is a racer.
He is currently driving in the Top Sportsman category and he is working on
obtaining a Pro Stock license for the 2007 season.
Millican and the
new-look Motorvation/Werner Enterprises/Koretsky Motorsports dragster will make
its first appearance in Friday night’s 6:15 p.m. qualifying session.
