PROCARE RX SPONSORS NHRA PRO MOD SHOUTOUT

ProCare Rx, one of the nation's largest prescription drug management companies, is planning to fill a script for competitors in the AMS Staff Leasing Pro Mod Challenge presented by Tindle Enterprises with a $50,000 payday, series director Matthew Brammer announced Wednesday.

Beginning with the next Pro Mod event, drivers will earn points for the $50,000 ProCare Rx Pro Mod Clash  -- a "race-within-a-race" which pits the best-qualifying and most-consistent AMS Pro Mods against each other with the chance to fight for a $25,000 top prize.

"Pro Mods are so amazing and they put on an incredible show, I wanted to do something that puts an even brighter spotlight on these teams and cars," Roger Burgess, Chairman of ProCare Rx said.

"Pro Mods are so amazing and they put on an incredible show, I wanted to do something that puts an even brighter spotlight on these teams and cars," Roger Burgess, Chairman of ProCare Rx said.

"When there's even more money on the line, every round counts, and the fans will want to follow not just the eliminations, but now, even the qualifying will be exciting. I'm really pleased to be a part of what AMS, Dave Wood, Tim Tindle and all the other sponsors have put together and I know we're going to see even more incredible racing from these cars this season," Burgess said.

Drivers earn points for the $50,000 ProCare Rx Pro Mod Clash two ways: performance and consistency. The top qualifier at each event will be awarded 160 points, No. 2 - 150 points, etc. to reward performance. In addition, the driver with the most consistent car will receive 160 points, the second-most consistent, 150, etc. Consistency will be determined by establishing variance of qualifying times, the most consistent being the driver with the smallest variance in time. In the case of a tie, speeds will be factored into the equation. Ten points will be deducted for any qualifying pass that delays racing by putting oil on the track.

Series Director Matthew Brammer said, "Roger is a true Pro Mod fan, and his energy is contagious. We talked about creating something that will bring even more excitement and opportunity to our racers, and I feel the format will definitely put more emphasis on every single run - qualifying and eliminations.

"Imagine a car that comes out and runs a 6.20, a 6.21 and a 6.19. With the fields we've seen so far this year, that driver might not qualify for eliminations, but he will still possibly earn a lot points for his .02 consistency. It opens the doors for more people to have a chance to win the $25,000," Brammer said.

The top eight qualifiers in the $50,000 ProCare Rx Pro Mod Clash after five races will be paired during qualifying at the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals, October 25-28. The winner will receive $25,000, runner-up $12,500, and each of the semifinalists $5,000. A $2,500 bonus will be awarded to the team with the most consistent car beginning at the Englishtown event and running through the Las Vegas qualifying sessions.

"We've seen some incredible things so far this season in AMS Pro Mod racing, and with the addition of the $50,000 ProCare Rx Pro Mod Clash, now a driver can race to win more than $50,000 in prize money at the end of the year. Things just keep getting better and better in Pro Mod - and the fans are the real winners with all of the great racing we've been able to deliver," Brammer said.
