SPECIAL HELMET RAFFLE

Race fans attending the ProCare RX SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park on June 22 - 24 will have an opportunity to win a piece of motorsports history, while at the same time, say thanks to American Forces at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

The Army Special Forces Association, Randall Shughart Chapter 64, based in Carlisle, Pa., will be raffling an autographed racing helmet signed by 44 NHRA drivers including current and former champions. The proceeds will be used to purchase telephone cards, clothing items and duffle bags for use by wounded/injured personnel at LRMC.

Members of the Randall Shughart Chapter 64 of the Army Special Forces Association travel to LRMC via SpaceA on U.S. Air Force aircraft and distribute the items. For the past two years, members of SFA Chapter 64 have also served as the advance team and on-site organizers for "Operation Support Our Wounded," a post-season visit by NHRA goodwill ambassadors Warren Johnson, Jim Yates, Melanie Troxel, Tommy Johnson Jr. and Cory McClenathan with American troops in Germany. 2047.jpgRace fans attending the ProCare RX SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park on June 22 - 24 will have an opportunity to win a piece of motorsports history, while at the same time, say thanks to American Forces at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany.

NHRA drivers who have signed the helmet include Melanie Troxel, Tony Schumacher, Larry Dixon, John Force, Warren Johnson, Greg Anderson, Jason Line, Del Worsham, Tony Pedregon, Tommy Johnson Jr., Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins, Angelle Sampey, Robert Hight, Ron Capps and many more.

"In advance, we'd like to thank the race fans at the SuperNationals for their generosity and we are certainly grateful to the NHRA drivers in helping us in this effort," said Kenneth F. Roberts, president, Chapter 64 SFA. "Our wounded service members often arrive at Landstuhl with nothing more than the combat uniforms they are wearing. They are very appreciative of our and your efforts to support them and to say 'thanks' for a job well done."

To register, race fans will donate one dollar for each entry form they submit at the Pontiac-GMC display on the NHRA Manufacturer's Midway (where the helmet will be displayed in a custom-made case) on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the ProCare RX SuperNationals. Fans attending the Greg Anderson/Jason Line autograph session on Thursday, June 21, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Green Brook Pontiac-Buick-GMC in Green Brook, N.J., will also have an opportunity to enter the helmet giveaway. The winner will be announced before the final round of the ProCare RX SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park on Sunday, June 24, and is not required to be present during the drawing.
