BOGACKI WINS BIG

Luke Bogacki added to what may be the most successful season of his career last
weekend at the Southern Survival Series event at Music City Raceway. There,
Bogacki drove his beautiful CSR Performance Products backed American dragster to
a $10,000 triumph in Saturday’s main event.
Bogacki defeated close friend Jeremy Jensen in the final round, culminating
an awesome string of stellar reaction times and close runs from his Huntsville
Engine & Performance powered machine. On his way to victory, Bogacki
knocked off notable hitters W.G. Miller, Clint Dishman, Phillip Chester, Kenny
Dixon, and more before squaring off with Jensen in the final round.
“Jeremy and I had a little fun in the final. We‘re real good buddies, so
it was a victory for both of us to run each other at the end,” said Bogacki.
“We split the money and dialed-in at 7.00,” laughed Bogacki. The final round
dial-in made for an interesting run, as Jensen had been running 5.4’s all day,
to Bogacki’s 4.90’s.
“We didn’t get real close to the target, but it was fun!” Bogacki’s 8.84
was just enough to overtake Jensen’s 8.86 in the final stanza.
Bogacki’s win added to what has been a phenomenal 2007 campaign. He is the
current leader in the DragRaceResults.com/Goodyear Bracket Series points in both
Super Pro and Sportsman, and has enjoyed a whopping 7 victories in 10 final
rounds within that series. In addition, he added a $5,000 Footbrake triumph at
Mobile Dragway, a Footbrake win at Hub City Dragway, and made a semi-final
appearance weeks ago in the $50,000-to-win Ultimate 64 Shootout.
“It’s been a great season thus far,” said Bogacki. “In February and March
it seemed like I could do no wrong, but I’ve actually struggled lately. I had a
string of parts failure and breakage, and in the midst of changing everything
around, I really lost my combination in the dragster. Two weeks ago, I rented
Sand Mountain Dragway and spent an entire day out there basically testing
everything I had in the trailer. I made 20 runs with the dragster, and changed
something every lap. I think that test session, the information that I got from
it, and my renewed confidence in the car had more to do with this win than
anything.”
