Look for an official announcement to come forth later today, but Torco's CompetitionPlus.com has confirmed that Mike Neff left Don Schumacher Racing late Thursday to become a member of JFR. This completes a scenario that began in Seattle with Neff's announcement to the Mopar/Oakley team that he was leaving to become the fourth driver for JFR.

Neff told Torco's CompetitionPlus.com in Sonoma that he was content remaining with the team through the conclusion of the 2007 season but when he was reassigned to the role of advisor, he said his time became limited. Earlier this week, Neff said he didn't see the arrangement lasting through Reading.

Team owner Don Schumacher said the reassignment of Neff was nothing more than preparing for the future and likewise granted interaction with JFR for the aspiring driver during this transition. At that time, Todd Okuhara and Phil Shuler were named co-crew chiefs on the team.

More details will be reported once they become available.
