DPM EXPANDS TO SHOW TEAM

An extension of one of the more rapidly expanding teams in NHRA drag racing, David Powers Motorsports will launch a modern show car program beginning in 2008.

The unique Top Fuel dragster show car will have two separate one-piece carbon fiber bodies featuring both the Caterpillar (Rod Fuller) and Matco Tools (Antron Brown) paint schemes. The David Powers Motorsports show car project began following the 2007 NHRA season and will be completed in time for its first appearance at Fabick CAT/Linn State Technical College near St. Louis in January. The show car will be housed at the team’s new race facility in Brownsburg, Ind.

“There couldn’t be a more perfect time for us to initiate our show car,” Powers said. “We’re beginning our second season with Matco Tools and after inking Caterpillar, we have two strong primary sponsors that will take advantage of this unique marketing opportunity. We’re thrilled that our good friends at Fabick CAT will stage the inaugural appearance for the new show car in mid-January. We see this as the next step in the growth of our organization that we soon hope will field four professional race cars.”

The DPM show car also will appear at the 2008 Matco Tools Expo in Orlando, Fla. in February and the Con-Expo in Las Vegas in March, the largest annual trade show event in Las Vegas. The show car is available to all North American Caterpillar dealers as well as their Think Big education partners, and all 1,500 Matco Tools distributors. It also can be utilized by the team’s associate sponsors such as Toyota dealerships and Valvoline retailers and Instant Oil Change locations.
