Dear Members,
Yesterday, Graham Light
(NHRA) contacted me regarding the upcoming pre-season test session at the Las
Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS). Graham informed me that NHRA has great concerns
regarding this test session as it relates to weather conditions, track prep and
tires. These concerns are in no way a reflection of the facility or its
excellent management or operational staff. LVMS is considered one of the best
in the country. However, NHRA felt their concerns were significant enough and
have sent LVMS a letter outlining their concerns, and their subsequent decision
not to sanction the test session. As a result, there will be no NHRA
representation of any kind at the test session, including safety safari or
technical personnel. PRO felt it necessary to enlighten its membership on this
very important development.
Sincerely,
Kenny Bernstein

on behalf of Light.
A representative for Don Schumacher Racing confirmed that none of the DSR cars will be in attendance. A call to team owner Don Schumacher was not immediately returned.
