CIFCA AWARDS BANQUET

CIFCA completed its 23rd season with it 2007 Awards Banquet held at the Boulder Station Hotel & Casino. Over 100 people representing 15 teams were in attendance.

In total 18 awards were handed out. The awards were for the CIFCA top 10 in points for the 2007 Season, Bonus Program Awards, and awards for Outstanding Club Member Achievements. The Award winners were:

 

2007 Champion- AMP Motorsports-Driver: Paul Peterson

2nd Place- Chill Factor- Driver: Chill Scardino

3rd Place- Desert Star- Driver: Tony Doca

4th Place- Sweet Justice- Driver: Jim Carter

5th Place- Arizona Thunder- Driver: Jamie Leppenan

6th Place- NSX- Driver: Frank Davidson

7th Place- Cheeky Monkey- Driver: Chris Bennett

8th Place- Jam-Air Special- Driver: Will Martin

9th Place- California Rattler II- Driver: Becky Sylvester

10th Place- The Familiar- Driver: Dan Whiteman

 

Good Vibrations Best Package Award winner: AMP Motorsports, Paul Peterson driver (this award is presented to the team who has the best combined ET with reaction time that is closest to the 7.50 index with as close to a .000 r/t)

Enderle Quick Reaction Award: Arizona Thunder, Jamie Leppenan driver, (This award is given to the driver with the best average reaction time with more than 20 runs, red lights do not count) .028 average light for 2007 winner Jamie Leppenan

Green fuel Solar Burnout King: Sweet Justice, Jim Carter, (This award is chosen by the fans. In the 2nd round of qualifying at each race the fans pick the car that does the best burnout.)

Glenn Powell Memorial Sportsman of the Year- Brad Faria ( Brad did over 20 displays at schools this year for CIFCA and passed out almost 4,000 calendars to these children, as well as coordinating all of the sponsors for the 2007 season.

2007 Rookie of the Year- Frank Davidson (This award is presented to the driver who is competing in their first full season with CIFCA and places the highest out of all eligible drivers in points)

Hard Luck Award winner- Brad Faria (Brad Faria was i3rd in points after 2 races, with one final round appearance when he blew his knee out and was unable to compete for the rest of the year)

Dave McDaniel Outstanding Club Member- Dustin Hamby (Dustin, Co-Owner of Green Fuel Solar stepped up and sponsored the burnout challenge in the middle of the season after the longtime sponsor of this program canceled in the middle of the year)
