ADAN HORNBERGER NAMED CREW CHIEF FOR MCGAHA PS TEAM

Adam Hornberger has been named the new crew chief for the Harlow Sammons Chevrolet Camaro driven by Chris McGaha in 2018. The Reading, Pennsylvania-native has an impressive resume serving as crew chief for Allen Johnson since 2015, Jeg Coughlin Jr. in 2014 and Mike Edwards prior to that.

“Adam [Hornberger] is adding knowledge to our team that we’ve never had before, especially with shock packages, and that’s really cool because I know nothing about that stuff,” McGaha laughed. “I know a lot about my Harlow Sammons Chevrolet Camaro but his knowledge about shocks is huge; that’ll only help our team moving forward.”

“I’m really excited to get back to working on a Chevrolet Camaro,” Hornberger said. “I don’t care what manufacturer a racecar is because a racecar is a racecar to me. In saying that though, I had a very good season and start to my career with tuning a Camaro. I’m excited to get back out there and into the swing of running a car the way I like to run it.”

Heading into the next chapter of his Pro Stock career with tuner Adam Hornberger, McGaha gives special thanks to Justin Elkes of Modern Racing.

“I wanted to thank Justin Elkes of Modern Racing for helping us the last few years,” McGaha added. “He’s devoting more of his time to Modern Racing so he won’t be out there with us next year but we will still have access to him if and when we need it. He really helped out our program and we can’t thank him enough.”

McGaha finished 2017 in the No. 9 spot in the Pro Stock point standings; a feat that is quite impressive since he did not compete in a full season. McGaha will return in 2018 for a full 24-race schedule starting at the Lucas Oil Winternationals presented by ProtectTheHarvest.com at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona at February 9-11th, 2018.
