AL TUCCI NAMED VOICE OF WORLD SERIES OF PRO MOD
Veteran drag racing announcer Al Tucci has been named the official voice of the Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod for the second consecutive year. Tucci will bring his iconic announcing style to the second annual event at Bandimere Speedway, Aug. 10-11.
Billed as the biggest, richest Pro Mod drag race in the history of the known universe, the 2018 World Series of Pro Mod will feature an invitation-only field of 32 legal Pro Mods fighting for a $100,000 winner-take-all prize.
“The race that (WSOPM founder) Wes Buck and his team put together is phenomenal,” Tucci said. “Look at everyone who was waiting for an invitation to race – everyone wants to be a part of this show. And it’s not just the hundred grand. It’s about the prestige. It’s about showing the result of the hard work it takes to conquer the mountain.”
As a drag racing announcer with 30 years of experience, Tucci has called the action at various sanctioned and standalone races across the country. The WSOPM’s unique format and diverse field of competitors offers a welcomed twist for Tucci.
“What I like about this race is it’s not about setting records or career-bests or qualifying on top – it’s all about the win light,” Tucci said. “The no-time aspect leading up to eliminations leaves so much to the imagination. The World Series of Pro Mod is unlike any other race I’ve ever announced, and it’s exciting to have the opportunity to be on the mic for Pro Mod’s big night.”
Buck was immediately impressed with the energy and passion Tucci brought to the show during the inaugural World Series of Pro Mod.
“Al is a one-of-a-kind announcer with a style that really adds to the energy and excitement in the air,” said Buck, the Drag Illustrated Founder and Editorial Director. “I knew he had to be a part of the first-ever World Series of Pro Mod, and the reception he received from the fans and competitors guaranteed we were bringing him back this year. Al is the voice of doorslammer drag racing, and we’re honored to call him the voice of the World Series of Pro Mod.”
