AUDREY WORM RACING HAULER ROBBED

Arriving to compete at NHRA’s Southern Nationals has proved to be a nightmare for Top Fuel driver Audrey Worm.

The hauler owned by Gary Leverich Racing & Audrey Worm Racing carrying Worm’s dragster and parts was broken into sometime between April 30 and Thursday, May 3 while it was parked in Heiskell, Tenn.

As of Thursday morning, this is what Worm told the police was stolen – so far – based on her taking inventory of the team hauler.

1 PSI Billet blower $3000

1 sed oil pan $150

9 DSR rods $1300

8 Ross pistons $520

1 damaged but complete cylinder head $1500

1 Burromax electric bike $500

2 big Snap-on impacts $600 each

1 small Snap-on impact $300

1 Milwaukee drill

Spare trailer wheel and tire

Anyone with any information about the robbery should contact the Knox County Police Department or Audrey Worm Racing.

Worm acknowledged the robbery was a setback to her team.

"The team is frustrated because we are a low-budget team, that quite frankly can't afford stuff like this, we want to go out to the events and try our best to compete,” Worm said. “We are independently funded and took a huge hit this morning! But we are strong, and we have a huge passion for drag racing and we will not let it stop us or drag us down!

Also, we are trying for the Road to the Future award Rookie of the Year award this season, and this is a major setback to that as well.”

The Leverich Racing & Audrey Worm Racing operation is headed to Atlanta and hoping to compete this weekend.

“We're planning on racing in Atlanta we're hoping to get down to the track by 1:30 p.m. (ET) today and make sure we have enough parts in the trailer to race,” Worm said.

Worm has competed in two NHRA races this season – the Gatornationals in Gainesville, Fla. (March 15-18) and the Four-Wide Nationals April 27-29 in Charlotte, N.C. Worm sits 17th in the season point standings.
