BACK-TO-BACK SELLOUT DAYS HIGHLIGHT VEGAS NHRA FOUR-WIDE NATIONALS

NHRA and The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway pulled off a first-time feat at the inaugural DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. Both Saturday and Sunday were declared sellouts.

Fans from all over the western region packed the grandstands, pit areas and campgrounds to witness the inaugural four-wide event west of the Mississippi River both Saturday and Sunday. There was also an international contingent including race fans from Europe and Australia.

"In today's world, people spend their entertainment money wiser than ever before," said Ron Capps, past NHRA Funny car champion and profound fan of the sport.  "To see the two sold-out days for the first-ever four-wide at Las Vegas Motor Speedway epitomizes the old adage of if you build it they will come."

"I absolutely love racing four-wide two races a year. I also love racing two-wide 22 races a year. The bottom line is you have to appreciate what Bruton Smith and employees have done for the sport of NHRA the last decade."
