BANDIMERE SPEEDWAY INVITES PEOPLE TO THEIR ‘STOP THE COVID CHAOS’ RALLY ON SEPT. 1

The Bandimere family, owners of Bandimere Speedway, has been in court battles this summer with officials from the Jefferson County Health Department.

On July 28, John “Sporty” Bandimere III told CompetitionPlus.com the speedway would remain open, but under strict conditions.

Bandimere Speedway is in Morrison, Colo., 20 minutes from Denver. Bandimere Speedway has been hosting races for 63 years. The Bandimere family executive team runs the speedway.

Now, the speedway is taking another step on Sept. 1 based on a press release the speedway sent out Aug. 30.

The release reads as follows:

The Bandimere family is proud to invite you to their “Stop the COVID Chaos” Rally on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2020, at 6 p.m. (MT) at Bandimere Speedway. Join us as we celebrate God and country and the people of the great state of Colorado.

Gates open at 5 p.m. with the rally starting at 6 p.m. The highlight of the event will be at the conclusion when all attendees will be invited to go onto the track racing surface for a photo. Everyone is encouraged to bring their United States and Colorado flags and dress in red, white, and blue for the photo.

The rally is co-hosted by the Bandimere family, House Minority Leader Patrick Neville, R-Castle Rock, and El Paso County resident Michelle Malkin and lawyer Randy Corporon.

There will be a brief presentation to explain further why the Bandimere family has decided to file a lawsuit since Gov. Jared Polis has not honored the spirit of the emergency powers law by repeatedly extending and expanding his authority and regardless, because his Executive Orders and Public Health Orders are unconstitutional. Neville and Malkin will say a few words about their similar lawsuit which the Colorado Supreme Court declined to hear Friday (Aug. 28).

Co-hosts and members of the media will be making some passes down the famous “Thunder Mountain” quarter-mile. All local media personalities are invited to attend the rally and, if they chose to do so challenge one of the co-hosts to a safe, supervised run down the racetrack in one of Bandimere’s own challenge cars.

Everyone is invited to join us as together we express our God-given right to demand a stop to the COVID Chaos Gov. Polis has inflicted upon all of us with his Executive Orders and Public Health Orders.

On July 28, Sporty Bandimere told CompetitionPlus the following:

“We’re working with them (Jefferson County Health Department) on protocols to at least allow us to do some small participant-driven events in hopes that we can show them that ultimately the way we are designed that we can accommodate events of some larger size other than just participant-driven events,” Sporty said.

The restrictions Bandimere Speedway must adhere to are as follows:

1) Bandimere Speedway cannot host an event in excess of 175 attendees
2) Cannot host an activity that doesn’t allow 6 feet of social distancing among non-family members
3) Cannot hold an event that serves food under the state’s restaurant guidelines

The High-Altitude Bracketnationals presented by Saratoga Casino Black Hawk are scheduled for Sept. 4-6 at Bandimere Speedway.

The NHRA Mello Yello Series national event schedule had the Mile-High Nationals at Bandimere Speedway slated for Aug. 7-9, which is the speedway’s marquee event.
