CASTELLANA CRASHES IN PRO MOD QUALIFYING AT GATORNATIONALS

Mike Castellana reportedly will not return to the 50th NHRA Gatornationals following his accident early Saturday afternoon during qualifying for the E3 / J&A Service Pro Mod Series at Florida’s Gainesville Raceway.

The Camaro driver from Muttontown, N.Y., was unhurt in the crash, but his Chevy didn’t fare as well.

It ran into severe tire shake at about 300 feet on the course, spun him around in the right lane, and pushed him across the track behind competitor Chad Green. The car slapped the left guard wall, then looped around. The rear tire popped loose as the car slowed to a halt in the left lane.
