Football season may be over but racing has just begun and NHRA fans can now participate in daily fantasy sports with RaceDayScore.com, an exciting new website that's sure to pump a healthy dose of nitro into the drag racing scene. 

The fantasy season starts now -- just in time for this weekend's big race in Pomona, Calif. And since it's a daily fantasy game, fans have the opportunity to draft new drivers each week.

"The launch of RaceDayScore.com has been several years in the making and is making its debut at the perfect time as the NHRA season enters a new era with live programming on Fox Sports 1," creator Seth Angel said. "Every major league sport in the world today, including NASCAR, offers a fantasy gaming option as part of their digital menu to fans, which was the catalyst for me to design, build and launch a fantasy gaming solution for professional NHRA Drag Racing."

Participants can earn real money, or play for free, through a variety of contests based on the real, on-track results in Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock at all 24 national events on the 2016 schedule. 

Fans are assigned a fixed salary cap of $60,000 with which to draft two Top Fuel drivers, two Funny Car drivers and two Pro Stock drivers. Points are awarded based on individual driver performances each week, with the total of all six drivers determining each team's score.

Much more advanced than the conventional scoring used in the sport, RaceDayScore awards points for both round wins and holeshots, while deducting points for red lights, oil downs, crossing the centerline or hitting the guardwall. RaceDayScore.com features a "Live Scoreboard" that updates after each pair of racecars crosses the finish line, so fans can keep up with their teams and fantasy leaderboard in real time.
