The eight drivers taking part in the thrilling exhibition Redemption on Friday, April 21 at the NHRA SpringNationals have been selected, race officials have announced.
 
The eight drivers from across the region who were chosen to compete are Craig Ofarrel, Chris Hamilton, Dui Buy, Chase Kurszewki, Cody Jones, Kenjo Kelly, Ryan Hall, and Kyle Thompson. Sergio Gonzalez will be at the event as an alternate.
 
The drawing to pair the eight-car elimination field will take place on April 21 at noon at the NHRA Nitrozone located in the midway.
 
The event which will feature eight of the fastest small tire cars from the area will take place during Friday’s SpringNationals qualifying. Drivers will get one time trial when qualifying begins at 8 a.m. on Friday, with the first round of eliminations slated for 1:30 p.m.
 
The semifinals will take place before the first round of professional qualifying for NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series drivers, and the final round for the small tire standouts will take place before the second round of professional qualifying on Friday night.
 
The winner of the eight-car exhibition will also receive a special acrylic Wally produced by NHRA. Redemption is Texas’ original no prep, no time series and features some of the fastest no time cars and racing in the world.
