FATHER-SON VICTORIES HIGHLIGHT 2019 PDRA SEASON-OPENER

 

Father-son racing duo John and Johnny Pluchino earned a long-awaited double-up at the Professional Drag Racers Association (PDRA) East Coast Nationals presented by FuelTech at GALOT Motorsports Park. John Pluchino won in Liberty’s Gears Extreme Pro Stock and Johnny Pluchino started his 2018 championship defense with a win in Schwing America Pro Outlaw 632 presented by Precision Chassis. 
 
The other professional class event champions were Kevin Rivenbark in Moroso Pro Boost and Jim Halsey in Switzer Dynamics Pro Nitrous. The first-ever Classic Graphix Pro Mod Challenge victory went to Todd Fontana. Mo Hall secured the victory in Atomizer Racing Injectors Outlaw 10.5 presented by Drag 965. 
 
Also earning the East Coast Nationals “660 Man” trophies in the sportsman classes were Ken Ellison in MagnaFuel Elite Top Sportsman, Kellan Farmer in Lucas Oil Elite Top Dragster, Dave Miller in Top Sportsman 32 and Aaron Roberts in Top Dragster 32.
 
In Coolshirt Pro Jr. Dragster presented by Knoxtown Products, Grove City, Ohio’s Chris Ruzicka left the starting line first and went 7.970 to defeat local racer Thomas Davis’ 7.955, both a 7.90 dial-in. Christopher Suppers scored the Gilbert Motorsports Top Jr. Dragster win when he ran 8.910 on an 8.90 dial-in next to Bryce Pittman’s 8.010 on a 7.94 dial-in.
