FERRE TO DRIVE HADDOCK TOP FUELER IN POMONA

This weekend Cameron Ferré will fulfill a drag racing dream 20 years in the making when he sits in the driver seat of the Terry Haddock Racing Top Fuel dragster at the Auto Club Nationals in Pomona. Ferré, now 33, has been dreaming of this moment since he came to watch the races in Pomona for the first time with his dad. “I’m so excited for the opportunity Terry and his Haddock Racing team have given me to drive their car at the track it all started for me 20 years ago,” said Ferré.

“It’s going to be pretty surreal considering that I’ve been dreaming of staging and racing a Top Fuel dragster here in Pomona since I was 8 years old. It’s also the first track I ever raced a Jr. Dragster as well. It’s a special place for me.”

This will be Cameron’s first Top Fuel event of the year after spending most of the season competing in multiple sportsman classes. He’s driven and competed in the A-Fuel category for Ahten Racing and Super Comp bracket classes but is extremely excited for this opportunity to run in the Top Fuel category for Terry Haddock Racing.

Ferre's last Top Fuel event was in Charlotte, NC in 2016 where he qualified and went on to beat the winningest driver in Top Fuel history Tony Schumacher in Round 1. “I’m really excited to prove that I belong here and can be competitive in Top Fuel,” said Ferré. “This opportunity allows me to maintain my license and gives me a chance to prove that I’m hell-bent on getting a full-time Top Fuel ride. I’m constantly working behind the scenes learning, grinding and gathering experience for opportunities like this one Terry’s given me.”

Cameron is a former winner at Pomona in the Super Comp category and you can tell he’s ready to enjoy every second of this event. There will be no shortage of support from his hometown cheering section that includes his newborn son Jett Ferré — who was welcomed into the world by Cameron and his wife Angelina on August 25, 2018.
