FRY, AREND HEADLINE BOISE WINNERS

Mendy Fry and Jeff Arend drove to victories this weekend past at the 48th Pepsi Nightfire Nationals at Firebird Raceway located outside of Boise, Idaho.

Fry took home the title, successfully defending her 2018 event title, running a 5.62 elapsed time at 254 miles per hour to defeat Adam Sorokin.

"I cannot begin to process how amazing my team is," said Fry. "Tom Shelar owned it this weekend. He knew exactly what this car needed every run, and my team carried out the directions flawlessly." 

Earlier in the day, Fry established a new Raceway track record with a 5.62 which also established her as the No. 1 qualifier. She bettered the mark during the semi-finals with a 5.59.

In the Funny Car division, Arend defeated Dan Horan Jr., for the win.
