On October 18, 2018, during testing in advance of the Brian Olson Memorial PDRA World Finals at Virginia Motorsports Park, longtime Mountain Motor Pro Stock racer Jeff Dobbins became the first driver to record a sub-four second run.

Dobbins covered the eighth-mile in 3.988 seconds at 181.62 miles per hour in his Dodge Avenger.
