JOIN JERRY BICKEL IN SAVING PET LIVES

The only thing Jerry Bickel loves almost as much as a beautiful doorslammers he builds is helping his local foster-based rescue mission - Pals.

" I am very involved and want this to make them some funds to save more animals," said Bickel, whose wife Jennifer runs Hawk Point, Mo.-based Pals.

Bickel admits he has 11 cats and 2 dogs, eleven of which came from Pals.

Pals, a 501C3 organization, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. Because Pals is a charity-based entity, it relies on adoption fees, donations, and grants to help cover their expenses. They receive no government funding.

On any given weekend, Pals cares for as many as 40 cats and 30 dogs. Their goal is to find homes for these animals in the care.

Pals is open for two-shifts daily, 365 days a year carrying for these pets.

Pals is a no-kill shelter, and pets remain in shelter until a home is found.

Before an adoption is filled, a home visit is required by the staff to ensure the home is a right fight.
