JUSTIN ASHLEY TO BE A PART OF 2020 NORWALK NIGHT UNDER FIRE

After showing serious skills in Top Dragster and Top Alcohol Dragster, Justin Ashley stepped onto the Top Fuel stage last year.

He has accomplished a lot in short order, as he has driven his super-slick StrutMasters.com, Auto Shocker and KATO Fastening Systems dragster to a best of 3.72 and 323 mph, and is in contention for an NHRA Rookie of the Year award.

Recognizing that he’s rapidly rising, Summit Motorsports Park president Bill Bader Jr. invited the New York-based driver to race at the 43rd Annual Kelly Night Under Fire – The Greatest Show in Drag Racing™ — on Aug. 8, 2020 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio.

“I have been hearing about how great this event is for a long time, and it was definitely something that I had wanted to take part in some day, so I’m very grateful for this opportunity,” said Ashley, who also is the subject of an internet-based series titled #FixFlipFuel and runs a fix-and-flip realty business in New York. “My team and I are really looking forward to the show.”

Sharing the spectacular stage at the event with Ashley — who also will be in action at the 14th Annual Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, June 25-28, at Summit Motorsports Park — will be, as previously-announced, Funny Car drivers John Force, Jack Beckman, Terry Haddock and Dale Creasy Jr.; Top Fuel drivers Brittany Force, Antron Brown and Cameron Ferre, and Bob Motz and Russ Lethbridge and their jet engine-powered trucks.

Heaping on more heat will be North American Jet Car Championship contenders Ernie Bogue and Beast from the East, Josh Graham and Eastern Raider, Danny Sullivan and Chicago Rush, Robert Albertson and Blazing Angel, Shelly Segal and Firestarter, Al Zukaskas and Hot Blade and Tammy Gatlin and Lone Star Lightning. An appearance by Scotty “Heat” Holdridge, who had a wreck in his 50 Cal jet engine-powered dragster a while back and is building a new dragster, is tentative.

Going wheels-up will be wheelstanders Jim Brewer, in Peacemaker, and Richard Hutchins, in Chevy Rebellion, and adding to all of the action will be Pro Mod drivers in the R&R Auto Body/DeCerbo Construction Rumble Wars and Top Fuel Motorcycle riders Larry McBride, Dave Vantine, Mitch Brown, Sam Wills and four others to be announced.

For added adrenaline, a flyover by the Hooligan Flight Team and a $125,000 fireworks display presented by R&R Autobody also are planned.
