LUCAS OIL PRODUCTS RENEWS SPONSORSHIP NHRA NATIONALS IN BRAINERD

NHRA officials announced that Lucas Oil Products has renewed its long-standing sponsorship of the annual NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series event at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, Minn.

The 37th annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals takes place Aug. 16-19 and is the 17th of 24 races during the 2018 NHRA season. The fan-favorite event also comes at an important time, serving as the penultimate race in the regular season before the Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship begins.

“We are very excited to see Lucas Oil’s continued sponsorship of the annual NHRA race at Brainerd International Raceway, which has always been one of the most thrilling events of the season,” said Brad Gerber, NHRA vice president and chief development officer. “Lucas Oil has been a tremendous partner for many years with a strong passion for the sport and NHRA drag racing.”

Lucas Oil’s longtime relationship and strong ties with NHRA extends across many fronts, including its sponsorship of the race in Brainerd. The 2018 season was the 17th year Lucas Oil has sponsored the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, which is NHRA’s premier sportsman series, and the company also has the naming rights to NHRA’s race facility at Indianapolis, Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, which plays host to the prestigious Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals. Lucas Oil is a strong supporter of many NHRA professional teams and competitors as well, including Pro Stock Motorcycle standouts Hector Arana and Hector Arana Jr.

“Few places in the drag racing world have the uniqueness that the community of Brainerd has,” said Tom Fredrickson, Lucas Oil Chief Operating Officer. “Our longstanding relationship with Brainerd International Raceway and people of Minnesota has been both productive and fulfilling. Lucas Oil Nationals at Brainerd has become a tradition at Lucas Oil Products; we look forward to many more years of partnership.”
