NHRA WILL NOT HAVE INJECTED-NITRO FUNNY CARS IN TAFC THIS SEASON
The A/Fuel Funny Car concept will not be a part of the NHRA's Top Alcohol Funny Car division in 2021.
The NHRA's Technical Department sought input from the TAFC community regarding the feasibility of running injected nitro Funny Cars with the supercharged alcohol combination.
"We appreciate those who took time to communicate their thoughts regarding A/Fuel in TAFC," said the letter delivered to NHRA TAFC competitors. "The TAFC Rules Committee members, as well as many other NHRA Tech Department staff members read your comments. Many of which were very thought out and well compiled.
"After careful review and consideration, as well as many hours of discussion regarding the many comments, the NHRA TAFC Rules Committee posted an unfavorable vote and has elected to table this concept. A/Fuel TAFC will not be a classification within TAFC at this time."
