PTS RACING COMPETES WITH RIDER CHRIS SMITH FOR 2019 AMRA TFH TITLE

Coming off a 2018 AMRA Top Fuel Harley Championship, Rider Chris Smith of PTS Racing is focusing all of his efforts this season on the NHRA. With over 30 years of two wheeled racing experience, the team prides itself on their goal oriented style and enthusiasm.

“I have raced on two wheels since I was 5,” Smith said. “I was exposed to racing by my Father Frank Smith, which allowed me to explore various types of racing such as flat track, but my ultimate passion is drag racing.”

Chris Smith began his NHRA Top Fuel Harley career with team owner John “Red” Rhea in 2017 racing in only one event. Rhea, most commonly known as Red, shares the same competitive vision as Smith; prove to be the best two-wheeled drag racing team in the world.

“Partnering with Chris in this venture was a no brainer,” Red explained. “He is a natural competitor, has proven to be a success on and off of the track, and is willing to put in the work to make sure our program is second to none.”

In addition to the 2018 AMRA Top Fuel Championship title, Smith also is the 2012 Nitro Funny Bike National Champion, and 2010 Super Gas National Champion.

“I have been very blessed to be able to compete and secure championships in multiple classes,” the 35 year old said. “Red and I decided it was time for a new challenge, time to elevate our program and race against the best in the world. We’ve had success, it’s now being able to prove that we can crossover into the NHRA and showcase just how dominant PTS Racing can be.”

Chris Smith and the PTS Racing crew will begin their Top Fuel Harley title run at the 50th running of the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals in Gainesville March 14-17.
