RAT TRAP FUEL ALTERED RETURNS TO ENGLAND

The 50th Anniversary World Tour of Ron Hope’s Rat Trap’s continues as the team heads back to England for the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed.

“We’re thrilled to be going back to Goodwood.” Said Ron Hope, owner and driver of Rat Trap. “This will be our fourth appearance at the Festival and we have something special planned for the fans.

“When we were wrenching on the car in 2014, my crew chief and son Brian noticed that the spectators were enthralled by the work. He figured if some was good then more would be better so we hatched a plan to tear the engine down to a bare block between runs. I don’t think anybody has ever done this at the Festival before and it will demonstrate what drag racers go through between rounds.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to continue celebrating the history of Rat Trap, and to give more fans a chance to experience the excitement of bad-to-the bone fuel-altereds.” Concluded Hope. “Racing in front of the fans is what drives us to continue, and we’re grateful to all our sponsors for helping make this tour possible.”

Those sponsors include: Aeromotive, ARP, Beech Underwriting Agencies, Donovan, Hedman Hedders, Hot Heads, Lucas Oil, Pro Bell, Powder Tech Services, SCE Gaskets, Speed Pro, TechnoCraft/TrailerCabinets and USAutomotive.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed will be held over the weekend of Jun 29 through July 2. The teardown demonstrations will take place on Friday, June 30, Saturday, July 1 and Sunday, July 2.
