Strange Engineering, the rearend and axle manufacturer for Tim Wilkerson's Funny Car team, has ruled out those components as a possible cause of his crash at the NHRA Kansas Nationals following a Tuesday inspection.

"Those were not the areas of failure," said Jeff Stange, President of Strange Engineering. "We are clearing up some of the misconceptions out there. We inspected the [rearend] unit fully on Tuesday and there was no damage to either the hub or the axle."
