SOUTHEAST GASSERS ASSOCIATION WILL NOT RACE GREER DRAGWAY IN 2017

The Southeast Gassers Association, drag racing's strictest period-correct Gasser series, has confirmed they will not return to Greer Dragway in 2017.

The SGA. a traveling series founded by past IHRA Pro Modified champion Quain Stott, began life at the historic drag strip located in the Upstate of South Carolina and traditionally opened and concluded their ten-race series at the eighth-mile track.

The SGA hasn't publicly said why they will not return other than commenting on their Facebook page, "One thing is for certain. The tracks that will hold a Southeast Gassers' date in the 2017 season are the tracks that fully support us. For this reason, the Southeast Gassers Association will not return to Greer Dragway in 2017. We apologize to many of our local fans, because we understand the convenience. Yet, we must never be complacent and book venues based solely on convenience."
