TAD STANDOUT JUSTIN ASHLEY HAS GREAT GATORS MEMORIES

In his first season as an A/Fuel driver, at his very first race the Gatornationals, Justin Ashley brought home the Wally. But that was then as a driver for Randy Meyer and this is now.
 
After an active offseason, his first as a team owner Ashley feels confident that his team is ready to compete to win at this weekend’s 50th Annual running of the Gatornationals. During the off-season, the second-generation drag racer brought in Tony Samsel to crew chief alongside Anthony Dicero a combination he feels can put the 1800CASHOUT A/FUEL dragster in the winner’s circle. 
 
“I’m excited about the upcoming season," Ashley said. "I love this class, the other drivers are great, and the competition is incredible. I’m excited about bringing Tony Samsel on board as crew chief, and I know with Anthony Dicero, Tom Abbett, Mark Adkins and the rest of the team we expect to run hard and compete."
 
The team experimented with clutch and engine combinations over the last month testing in West Palm, Orlando, and Gainesville. It appears as if those laps paid off. After a disappointing DNQ at the Baby Gators, the team found a gremlin that’s been plaguing them since Charlotte last year.
 
“We just could not get the car to respond to what is considered routine tuning adjustments,” Ashley said.
”After the DNQ we had a meeting and just decided to change everything in the car, motor and all. Thankfully, we were able to go out there, make a test lap and our gremlin was gone. We made a good baseline lap and we’re ready to go for the Gators.”
 
Over the offseason, Justin Ashley Racing brokered sponsorship agreements with Lucas Oil, NGK Spark Plugs and Impact. 
 
"Lucas Oil, NGK Spark Plugs and Impact have stepped up for us," Ashley said. "We’re fortunate and grateful to have them aboard. We’re confident that using NGK Spark Plugs gives us the best opportunity to win and keep all eight cylinders lit and go fast. 
 
"We use our Lucas Oil products all the time throughout the season. Their whole product line is huge for us, everything from their oil to their cleaning products. We love to use them. 
 
"Impact has stepped up with best safety gear available. Their gear is top-notch and provides the security I need to know I am at my safest running at the speeds we are."
 
Surrounded by drag racing for all of his life, the passion burns brightly for Ashley.
 
 “I love the sport, I love this particular race, I love our team, I love our sponsors and I love our fans,” Ashley said. “We owe it to all of them and ourselves to go out there and win this weekend and that’s what we intend to do”.
