TANNER GRAY TO GRADUATE HIGH SCHOOL SUNDAY IN BRISTOL PRE-RACE

With his graduation into Pro Stock, eighteen-year-old Tanner Gray completed a milestone. This Sunday, the third-generation drag racer will check off another significant achievement which took much longer, 12 years to be exact.

Gray will graduate high school Sunday during pre-race festivities for the NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals at Bristol Dragway. He will attend in cap and gown, accompanied by his parents Shane and Amber Gray, grandparents Johnny and Terry, as well as a score of other family and friends.

“I am excited to get to share my personal achievement with my friends, family, and fans,” the two-time National Event Winner said. “I am a pretty shy guy when you get to know me, so this is a pretty big deal for me.”

Gray will receive a certificate of completion for High School from the On Track School, which is an accredited curriculum out of California.

“On Track School academic programs blend the best of modern technology and innovation with traditional, research-based academic approaches,” Molly Stith, Gray's learning coach said. “Most students who participate in this home school program find themselves juggling professional careers, such as Olympic gymnasts, BMX riders, and race car drivers to name a few. I am privileged to have watched Tanner (Gray) grow up into a smart young man and am so proud of his accomplishment.”

Shane is more than a proud parent this weekend, he is a teammate to his son, in racing a limited schedule this season.

“This weekend is more than just racing our Gray Motorsports Valvoline Chevrolet Camaro’s,” Shane said. “Not only is it Father’s Day, but it is Tanner's graduation and he deserves all of the support both on and off the track for this accomplishment.”
