TUCCI BRINGS DISTICTIVE VOICE TO WORLD SERIES OF DRAG RACING

It's a "Beeeauuutiful Smoky Burnout" at the 64th annual World Series of Drag Racing, presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts.

Veteran announcer Al Tucci will bring his famous call to the world's longest continually running drag racing event on Aug. 25-27 at Cordova International Raceway. It is the first time in Tucci's three-decade plus career that he has called the World Series.

Tucci, who has a booming voice filled with comedy, excitement and a love for racing, got his start, working for track operators "Broadway" Bob Metzler and Jim Ledford at Great Lakes Dragaway in Wisconsin. Like those Midwest drag racing legends, he is a truly unforgettable character.

Currently the voice of the PDRA, Tucci has served as announcer for several other drag racing organizations - the NMCA, ADRL, PSCA, WCHRA and the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) - over his eclectic career.

His primary goal is simple: He wants to make sure everyone in attendance has a great time. He is famous for his knowledge of muscle cars, which seems at times to be an endless version of a Hot Rod magazine, combined with the entire history of the automobile.

But, it is his famous call of a "Beeeauuutiful Smoky Burnout," which gets fans crazed over every car that pulls out of the waterbox in smoky exultation.

Tucci has attended thousands of races across the globe and has received numerous awards for his unique style, unbelievable talent and energy that he brings to every race.

That energy is off the charts for the World Series of Drag Racing. Tucci said he is honored to be a part of such a legendary event, and is ready to get behind the mike and pass on his excitement to spectators and racers alike.
