FRIDAY QUALIYFING IN THE BOOKS AT THE CALIFORNIA HOT RO0D REUNION

The opening day of the 24th annual California Hot Rod Reunion® presented by Automobile Club of Southern California concluded on Friday with nostalgia quarter-mile nitro drag racing and California car culture on display.

The day kicked off with hundreds of hot rods and customs flooding into Auto Club Famoso Raceway. Gleaming chrome and meticulously detailed machines were on display during the course of the day.

Racing action was also a focal point of the day’s activities with Top Fuel and Funny Car headlining the action. In Top Fuel, Tony Bartone led the field with a run of 5.585 seconds at 242.10 mph. In Funny Car Ryan Hodgson led the nitro category with a run of 5.642 at 262.28.

The opening day concluded with the California Hot Rod Reunion Honoree Reception-taking place at the Double Tree hotel in Bakersfield, Calif.

The second day of the 24th annual California Hot Rod Reunion® presented by Automobile Club of Southern California takes place on Saturday with gates opening at 8 a.m. Tickets are only $25.00 and children 15 and under are free with paid adult.
