Our sources tell us the Top Fuel and Funny Car chassis committee met right after the NHRA Route 66 Nationals and have offered up a new spec for the Top Fuel dragster front-half chassis which could be implemented for the 2016 season. The suggestion must first pass the SFI Board's approval first. This change is aimed to prevent the crashes similar to those experienced by Larry Dixon and Aussie Phil Lamattina when their dragsters, without warning, inexplicably broke in half.
